How to Cleanse the Sanctum of Temperance in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert is a game that does pretty much everything. It has engaging exploration, tons of side quests, and of course, plenty of puzzles. Puzzles can fall into categories such as Abyss Cressets, Abyss Nexus, and Sanctums.

One of the first Sanctums you’ll come across in Crimson Desert is the Sanctum of Temperance. The main objective for players at this Sanctum is to cleanse it by putting it back together and turning the power back on. This involves finding hidden power cells around the area.

For players who want to explore, but not be overwhelmed by a world larger than the story.

If you are trying to complete the Sanctum of Temperance puzzle, this guide has you covered. Here’s how to cleanse the Sanctum of Temperance in Crimson Desert.

How to Unlock the Sanctum of Temperance

If you enjoy exploring the open world of Crimson Desert as much as possible, then you have most likely stumbled upon the Sanctum of Temperance. Unfortunately, if you visit the Sanctum of Temperance too early in your playthrough, a voice will speak out to you mentioning that you “haven’t met the right person yet” to interact with the Sanctum.

Players will unlock the Sanctum of Temperance after unlocking the Witch in Chapter 5. In fact, unlocking the Witch will unlock all Sanctums throughout the world of Crimson Desert. Keep in mind that unlocking the Sanctums doesn’t mean they’re complete, as there is still a puzzle that you need to do at each one of them.

After unlocking the Witch as a merchant, she will give you a quest that involves cleansing all Sanctums throughout the open world. Since this is a quest, you can easily set a waypoint to any Sanctum through your journal.

How to Cleanse the Sanctum of Temperance

When you first arrive at the Sanctum of Temperance in an attempt to cleanse it, you will encounter a horde of enemies that you must defeat. Defeating all the enemies at the Sanctum of Temperance is the first step toward cleansing it.

Once all the enemies are defeated, your next objective is to find a power cube so we can bring power back to the Sanctum. This power cube can be found underneath the Sanctum of Temperance, which you can reach by jumping down through the hole in the ground. Refer to the images below to get an idea.

Next, use your Axiom Force ability to grab onto the cube to bring it back to the Sanctum. Once you arrive back at the Sanctum, place the power cube in front of the only square hole that doesn’t have a cell. Use Force Palm to punch it in.

Crimson Desert Sanctum of Temperance Puzzle

The next step is to repair one of the pillars surrounding the Sanctum. If you take note of all the pillars, you will notice that one is missing its top. The top of the pillar can be found in the building to the right of the Sanctum, a building completely riddled with vines.

Unfortunately, the vines will prevent you from grabbing the piece, so you will need to get rid of them. You can get rid of the vines by either shooting a fire arrow at it or using your Blinding Flash ability to burn it with the help of the sun.

Once the vines burn away, use Axiom Force to grab the piece and bring it over to the broken pillar. Rotate the piece so it places nicely into the slot on top of the pillar and then climb on top of it and use Force Palm downward to smack it into place.

Completing this step will cleanse the Sanctum, completing your objective. The rewards for doing so are blueprints that you can examine to learn new items to craft at the smithy.
