Best Abilities to Use in Kiln

Kiln is a very intriguing mulitplayer game where players create clay pots and battle in ceramic arenas to quelch the opponent’s kiln. It stands out among other PvP titles because of its creativity and unique gameplay.

Just because a game has a great single-player campaign doesn’t mean the multiplayer is as good or even necessary.

During the pot creation process, you will see that different types of pots have different abilities. While some of these are okay, others stand out as being very good to use in combat.

Depending on the ability you have, you will be able to knock out opponents, make the ground toxic, or even create a turret. Here are the best abilities that you should aim to get when creating a pot in Kiln.

Drill

Dig and Strike

If you are a fan of smaller, faster pots, then crafting a jug will be incredibly useful for you. Small pots don’t normally have as much health as larger ones, and can’t take much of a beating in battle.

The Drill ability helps with this, as it allows you to dig underground and navigate around enemies. You can choose to burst out of the ground to damage those around you, but it is also great for infiltrating the enemy’s area.

We have used the Drill ability to dig past enemies while they were distracted, getting to their kiln easily to dump water on it. It’s a little trick that has a big impact.

Cactus

Pins and Needles

If you want to craft yourself a large vessel to shatter your opponents, you will get the Cactus ability to aid you in combat. This is one of the more common abilities you will see, but it is an effective means of shattering your opponents or making them flee.

This ability makes a cactus sprout from the top of your pot. You then slam down in front of you, leaving a trail of needles in your wake. Not only does the initial slam deal a good chunk of damage, but the needles are a lasting effect that will make opponents flee.

This is a great ability for those who aren’t afraid to jump into battle or those who want to stick back and guard the kiln.

Stunning Bullhorn

Stun Them Into Silence

Despite the battles only being 4v4, they can still get pretty hectic, especially when you have the entire enemy team ganging up on your kiln. At times like this, having the Stunning Bullhorn ability can be a real lifesaver.

This ability can be charged up, creating a cone AOE. Any enemy caught within the AOE will be stunned for a brief period, giving you the chance to attack them without retaliation.

This is great when dealing with groups, or it can be used as a means of escaping enemies when you are damaged. Either way, it’s a great ability to have.

Slowing Hourglass

Make Time Stop

Time manipulation is a great power to have in many games, and it can be a bit overpowered in Kiln. The Slowing Hourglass ability allows you to create an AOE that slows down time for any enemy caught inside.

The AOE isn’t super large, but it can hold a few smaller enemies or one very large foe. Either way, they are basically helpless inside the bubble, allowing you and your teammates to attack them easily without retaliation.

All the opponent can do is try desperately to escape, and you will most likely shatter them before they can get out. This ability is given to medium chalices.

Dynamite Toss

Kaboom

Small pots can have trouble damaging opponents very effectively thanks to their smaller size and lack of health. If you aren’t afraid to go all-in on health, you can make a bottle with the Dynamite Toss ability.

This explosive ability allows you to throw yourself from a distance at enemies, causing an explosion where you land. It is an ability that takes many by surprise, making them have to reorient themselves.

Using this ability on a group of enemies who are attacking your kiln can help you get the upper hand, or you can use it as a strong attack to help your team push to the enemy kiln.

Morningstar

A Devastating Slam

Another medium pot ability is called Morningstar. It is given to those who craft a vase, and it is one of the more powerful attack abilities in the game.

The Morningstar ability allows you to turn your pot into a deadly weapon, creating a large morningstar above you before swinging it down with a lot of force on a small area. While the AOE is not very big, whichever pots are unfortunate enough to be caught in it will be devastated.

All that will be left is for you or your teammates to finish off the small bits of health left from those who didn’t get destroyed in the process.

Storm Hammer

The Might of Thor

Do you want the might of Thor on your side? Well, you might want to craft a large pot and shape it into a cup, as this will gift you the ability known as Storm Hammer.

This ability is very similar to Morningstar, allowing you to swing down with a mighty force, damaging anyone caught in the blast. What makes it better is that the body of your pot is much larger, giving you a much bigger area of effect.

The downside, however, is that your pot won’t have very much health, as you need to sacrifice your health to get this ability, crafting a pot that is more capable of carrying. Still, it will help out tremendously.

These JRPGs throw you straight into the action and immerse you in their respective worlds from the first button-push.

Witch’s Brew

Poison the Ground

Are you the defending type of player who sits back and guards the kiln? If so, you might want to consider the Witch’s Brew ability, as it will help you defend your kiln against multiple opponents.

Witch’s Brew creates a poisonous area on the ground that slows down opponents and damages them over time. The area of effect is also rather large, allowing you to completely protect the front of your kiln with the ability.

While enemies are caught in this AOE, they cannot use the super splash ability, and they are slowed down, allowing you to easily damage them with your massive pot. Plus, the DOT effect helps shatter your opponents faster or will make them back off for a bit.

Fight Cloud

Don’t Talk About It

You just made a scrappy little vessel, and they are looking for a fight. Well, take them into the ceramic arena and let them duke it out with some other pots. Of wait, many of the other pots are larger than them, but it’s okay, because you have Fight Cloud ability.

Fight Cloud allows you to launch your pot at opponents, trapping them in a brawl that damages them over time. It is a great way to distract opponents, allowing teammates to sneak on through to quelch their kiln.

The Fight Cloud ability comes in handy on multiple occasions, but you must not be afraid to get into the fight and rough some other pots up, otherwise, the ability is useless.

Chicken Turret

Automated Eggs

Do you want an ability that you can just use and forget about? Well, Chicken Turret is just that. It allows you to place a chicken-shaped turret that shoots eggs at any opponents that enter its AOE.

This ability lasts for a while, or until someone is brave enough to run in and destroy it. At that point, you can just place another one. There are plenty of places where this turret is very effective. For instance, you can place it on the upper platforms of the music map.

This allows the turret to fire eggs down on opponents who can’t reach the turret because they are gathering water. There are multiple tricky ways to benefit from this ability that make it number one.
