Hot Wheels Infinite Rush isn’t due to launch until September 10, but apparently nobody told its PlayStation trophies, as the full trophy list has already appeared online more than a month early.
As spotted over on PSNProfiles, the PS5 trophy list is now live and contains 51 trophies, including the all-important Platinum. It’s an unusually early appearance given that we’re still over a month away from launch, or just under a month if you’re planning on buying the Ultimate Edition and getting three days of early access.
There’s not a massive amount of earth-shattering information hiding within the list, admittedly. Infinite Rush is an open-world arcade racer, and its trophies largely reflect the sort of things Milestone has already told us we’ll be doing: exploring its world, completing events, collecting cars and generally driving tiny pieces of plastic at speeds that would presumably invalidate every warranty Mattel has ever issued.
There is one trophy that caught my eye, though: King of Drift calls for players to drift a total of 310,000 miles. That seems…excessive, right? I think it might be a typo. If it isn’t, that could end up being a hell of a grind unless the standard speed you’re going at is hella fast.
There’s also a couple of multiplayer trophies, but they seem to focus on just taking part rather than having to win or anything, so they should be easy to grab.
The game itself is a fairly substantial change from Hot Wheels Unleashed and its sequel. Rather than focusing primarily on traditional tracks, Infinite Rush gives players four islands to freely explore, each packed with races, challenges, collectibles and other activities. Each island also has its own Rush Master to defeat, with beating all four apparently being the ultimate goal.
There are more than 150 vehicles to collect across four different classes, alongside an expanded Track Builder, four-player split-screen and online multiplayer supporting up to 12 players. Full cross-play is also supported, although Nintendo Switch 2 players are excluded from that particular party.
The trophy list appearing this early doesn’t necessarily mean anything particularly exciting. Trophy data routinely appears ahead of release as games go through the final stages of certification and preparation, although seeing a complete list more than a month before launch is certainly earlier than usual.
If nothing else, trophy hunters can now start mentally preparing themselves for another Platinum. I certainly will be, because apparently collecting imaginary digital cups is a perfectly reasonable use of my increasingly finite time on this planet.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush launches on September 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Ultimate Edition owners can begin playing on September 7.
