Among the most critical are model accuracy, image generation quality, rights and licensing, and a range of advanced customization options. These features collectively determine how well a tool can translate user intent into high-quality visual output while ensuring usability and compliance.

Based on G2’s analysis of over 2,000 reviews, users rate the image quality of AI image generators exceptionally high, with an average score of 6.30 out of 7. This indicates strong satisfaction with the outputs produced across platforms. Several other features also receive consistently strong ratings. However, we’ve analyzed the top 10 products in the category, and here are some observations:

Canva leads the market, supported by the highest number of reviews (724) alongside exceptional satisfaction and market presence scores (both at 98). These factors contribute to its leading G2 Score of 98, securing the #1 position in the category. Canva’s dominance reflects its broad adoption, ease of use, and strong integration within users’ everyday design workflows.

Adobe Firefly holds the #2 spot with 257 reviews, leveraging Adobe’s established brand and ecosystem. Close behind are Gemini (G2 Score: 77) and AKOOL (73). Interestingly, while AKOOL outperforms Gemini in both review count and satisfaction, its lower market presence impacted its ranking, allowing Gemini to take the #3 position. This highlights how market presence can significantly influence overall ranking.

Another trend is observed among tools like Recraft (201 reviews) and 1min.AI (304). Despite relatively strong review volumes and satisfaction scores of 75–90, these products lag in market presence, with scores in the 40–50 range. This gap suggests that while these vendors in the category have solid review counts and satisfaction scores, many still struggle to establish a strong market presence.
