Succession is the story of Logan Roy, head of one of the world’s largest media conglomerates, who just announced his imminent retirement. Now his kids, and more than a few others, have to spend four seasons jockeying for position in hopes of becoming the new boss while also earning a little bit of love from daddy.
The Blu-ray edition of Succession displays in 1080p resolution in the show’s original aspect ratio and has DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound.
The series ran for 39 episodes across four seasons from 2018-2023. Published by Faber & Faber and officially authorized by series creator Jesse Armstrong, the script books for each season are incredibly enjoyable and insightful reads. The first three seasons have 720-plus pages, while Season 4’s scripts total 656 pages.
Succession featured some of the best writing on TV during its run. Conversations within the Roy family often featured wildly creative lines of dialogue–especially when they hurled insults at each other.
What’s cool about The Complete Scripts is that you’ll routinely come across content that never made it into the show, including entirely new scenes as well as extended and alternative scenes. The scripts also include all of the stage directions and background details.
Succession: Season 1: The Complete Scripts is on sale for only $17 (was $30). The 768-page paperback includes an introduction by Armstrong, who served as the showrunner and lead writer for all four seasons.
