Here’s What’s Happening in March 2026!

Lots of Spring and Green Coming Our Way

Right on the heels of the Fire Horse Lunar New Year a few weeks ago, coupled with a Ring of Fire Eclipse, we’re now looking for a Blood Moon Total Lunar Eclipse to take place in a few days (March 3rd) . IMO that’s a lot of red themed happenings for such a short period of time!

If your brand is all about seriousness and science this probably won’t be of much interest to you. But if you have a more playful, mystical bent to your messaging, there’s a lot in the cosmos lately to work with.

The spiritual significance of a Blood Moon (to many of us) centers on themes of transformation and release. While science explains its red hue through Rayleigh scattering, many spiritual traditions view it as a potent “cosmic reset”.

Blood Moon Themes

Transformation & Rebirth: The eclipse next week is seen as a cycle of “death” (the moon darkening) and “rebirth” (it returning to light), symbolizing the shedding of old versions of oneself to make room for new growth.
Release and Realignment: It is considered an ideal time to let go of stagnant habits and limiting beliefs. Unlike a typical full moon for manifestation, a Blood Moon is specifically geared toward closure.
Heightened Intuition: Many believe the “veil” between worlds is thinnest during an eclipse, supercharging psychic abilities, vivid dreams, and spiritual insights.

March is Women’s History Month

Why it matters for small brands: This is one of the biggest brand storytelling windows of the year. This is a wonderful time to explore founder stories, and collaborations between women-founded brands.

Spring Equinox (First Day of Spring) — March 20

This is the emotional turning point of the entire retail calendar – social media is rife with countdown clocks, especially in light of the blizzard and harsh Winter we’ve had in most of the country. Your customers are shifting into home refresh mode, wardrobe revamping, and reinvention. Your Spring launches will have the most impact in the next few weeks.

Design Fairs and Fashion-Adjacent Events (Early March)

Events like Matter and Shape in Paris attract designers, buyers, and media. These events shape decor, color and fabric trends that we’ll see hitting later in the year. According to Wallpaper Magazine “Returning for its third edition, Matter and Shape has quickly become a firm favourite among design aficionados. Launched in 2024 and held during Paris Fashion Week in a temporary show space at the Jardin des Tuileries, the salon highlights the increasingly porous boundary between fashion and design, drawing collectors, buyers and creatives into the same orbit.”

For Beauty Brands

World Candle Day is happening on March 1st (Sunday) – it’s a day that was launched by the Association of European Candle Makers (AECM), the European Candle Manufacturers Association (ECMA), and the Latin American Candle Manufacturers Association (ALAFAVE), to promote the use of candles to create a unique, cozy, and festive atmosphere – and to encourage safe burning practices.

World Fragrance Day is on March 21st (Saturday) – it was established to celebrate the artistry of scent, this annual event promotes the industry, encourages wearing favorite scents, and often features specialized,, social media campaigns, and brand promotions to welcome the spring season.

Oscar Awards (Red Carpet + Award Ceremony) March 15th Sunday – keep tabs on all the red carpet looks and get ready to post your get-the-look commentary to your community through blog posts, email blasts, IRL makeup demonstrations, and social media.

Fashion and Accessory Brands

Oscar Awards (Red Carpet + Award Ceremony) March 15th Sunday (ditto above but focus on jewels, heels, and outfits) look for color trends, silhouettes, jewel design, and keep tabs on which stylists styled the stars that you’d love to see you designs on.

National Dress Day March 6 (Friday) is an excellent example of an internet holiday created to specifically lift one particular brand. Designer Ashley Lauren founded National Dress Day as a way to relive and celebrate our dearest dress memories. While one designer launched the event, it can be celebrated by influencers and content creators of all types.
